Initial context
In 2017, our partner Datalogic introduced us to Eurospin as a company specialising in the development of Android applications. Eurospin required a new back-office system to manage activities such as restocking, returns management, waste management and price control.
EUROSPIN: Backoffice App
The project
Starting with a basic terminal, we took on the challenge of creating an advanced software solution.
Our aim was to implement planogram-guided restocking based on the shelf layout. Until then, Eurospin’s staff had been using Windows CE devices, which featured black screens and basic functionality. We, on the other hand, introduced an Android application with a more modern interface, featuring colours, editable tables, lists, highlights and an operator guide to view relevant data and perform all required functions.
We worked closely with Eurospin’s IT team to carry out on-site analyses, in order to define the best solution and guide the client towards the implementation best suited to their existing structure. The prototyping phase was fundamental to the project’s success: we took into account feedback from staff, whose involvement was crucial in evaluating the choices made.
To this end, we carried out shadowing sessions and stress tests to ensure that the app fully met the needs of end users. The total duration of the project was approximately one year.

Results achieved
Today, Eurospin operates completely independently thanks to the back-office application developed by Soluzione 1. The client primarily seeks our support for technical advice and Android updates, an area in which we have been proactive, proposing enhancements that have made a real difference in improving the application’s functionality.
The number of devices deployed stands at around 10,000–15,000 units, demonstrating the success and widespread adoption of the application within Eurospin’s business environment. Thanks to this partnership, the client has significantly improved operational efficiency and the management of day-to-day activities, achieving new levels of productivity and customer satisfaction.
